Cloudflare Migration

We plan and execute migrations from Akamai, Imperva, F5, AWS CloudFront, AWS WAF, AWS Shield and other platforms to Cloudflare. We map existing rules and policies, test traffic and manage a controlled cutover with minimal impact on service availability.

Migrate to Cloudflare without compromising security or availability

Moving to Cloudflare involves more than changing DNS configuration. We assess the existing architecture, dependencies, security policies and traffic-handling model before designing a target environment based on the appropriate Cloudflare services.

We migrate customers from platforms including Akamai, Imperva and F5, as well as AWS services such as CloudFront, AWS WAF and AWS Shield. The migration can include WAF rules, DDoS protection, bot-management controls, caching configuration, certificates, routing, access policies and integrations with customer systems.

Migrations are delivered in controlled stages. Before the production cutover, we test application behavior and security controls, prepare a rollback plan and agree on the migration window. After launch, we monitor traffic, optimize the configuration and address differences between Cloudflare and the previous platform.

Service scope

  • Assessment of the existing architecture and configuration.
  • Feature mapping between the existing platform and Cloudflare.
  • Migration of WAF, DDoS, bot-management and rate-limiting policies.
  • Migration of DNS, CDN, caching and certificate configuration.
  • Target Cloudflare architecture design.
  • Functional, security and performance testing.
  • Phased traffic cutover and rollback planning.
  • Post-migration monitoring and optimization.
  • Environment documentation and knowledge transfer.

Delivery stages

  1. Assess

Inventory the environment and identify dependencies.

  2. Design

Map capabilities and prepare the target architecture.

  3. Configure

Build the Cloudflare environment and recreate the required policies.

  4. Test

Validate applications, traffic flows and security controls.

  5. Cut over

Migrate production traffic in a controlled manner.

  6. Optimize

Monitor the environment and fine-tune the configuration.
